Many online programs use a two-tiered approach to their online programming: .o. A beta test, where content that was created before the start of the beta is tested with this group at a reduced rate in return for their feedback and suggestions for improvement. .o. A full version that is made available to the public at full-rate.
The perculcha approach is slightly different, in that it uses three tiers: 1. The Design Group. This is comprised of a concept and/or foundational model for an online program, and a group of up to 20 'early adopters' to co-create the content of the program based on their specific interests and needs. This phase is highly interactive and the participants are extremely influential in determining the overall structure, content and flow of the program. This group receives a dramatically reduced rate from the public release version because of the time involvement, additional feedback and interaction requested. This is the first group to go through the program that was developed with the design group. The program has more shape and structure than it had during the design phase, but there will still likely be some information or approaches that could be cut, added, or reconfigured to create the best participant experience. The prototype group is less interactive than the design group, but more involved than the those who choose the public version in terms of feedback and suggestions for improvement. A reduced rate is offered to this group, but the cost is higher than for the design group because the level of involvement and interaction is less. 3. The Public Release. This is the polished version of the program after it's gone through the design and prototype phases. This is the best fit for those interested in a structured, tested program. Because it has gone through prior testing, the cost for the public version is higher. Perks and expectations for this group can be found here.
The purpose of the three tier approach is to thoroughly research and test the effectiveness and organization of a program before it is released to the public, giving you a greater participant experience.
